I have always been passionate about the Design Process. I wanted to show the evolution of one look in my collection. It began as a different variation but once it was tested in Muslin, I realized my first idea with the zipper embellishments on the front of this dress would not work. The weight of my metal zippers was going to make the dress collapse in this area. The final product was a much more simplified version of using these zippers and is quite impactful.
Exposed zippers were a very important detail in my collection as it added a "armor" feeling. finding a technique that would be quick to master was crucial due to time. The exposed zipper area on my mini red dress was turned into a functional pocket with a printed, broken glass lining.
